Trust & transparency

Advertising Policy

Advertising may support the Site, but it does not control editorial conclusions, source selection, legal warnings, corrections, or publication decisions.

Commercial transparency

How ads, sponsorships, and editorial content remain distinguishable.

Key point

Paid placements should be identifiable as advertising or sponsored content. Ads must not be formatted in a way that reasonably misleads readers into believing they are independent editorial guidance.

Editorial and Commercial Separation

Editorial pages are planned and reviewed independently from advertising sales. Advertisers cannot buy favorable legal conclusions, remove material warnings, or prevent corrections.

Ad and Sponsorship Labels

Display advertising should be visually distinguishable from editorial content. Sponsored articles, paid placements, or partner messages should use clear labels such as “Advertisement,” “Sponsored,” or “Paid Partnership.”

Advertising Claims

Advertisers are responsible for their claims, offers, pricing, eligibility, and legal compliance. The Law Basics may reject or remove advertising that appears deceptive, unsafe, irrelevant, discriminatory, or inconsistent with the Site’s educational purpose.

Legal-Service Advertising

An advertisement for a lawyer, legal platform, document provider, referral service, or other legal-related business does not mean that The Law Basics has verified every license, jurisdiction, outcome, fee, privacy practice, or service term. Readers should perform independent checks.

Cookies and Ad Technology

Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies if enabled and permitted by the visitor’s choices and applicable law. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
